Ryan Semans Hello fellow educational technology integrationists, teachers, and all others who care about the future of education.  My name is Ryan Semans and I am authoring this blog in an effort to share and gather information regarding technology integration teaching tools, educational theory, best practices, etc…  To have total support, all three legs of a stool (parents, teachers, and administrators) need to have a place to access information.  One goal of this blog is aid all stakeholders in their support of students and to facilitate innovation in their daily practices.

The marriage between my interest in technology and education has been a long one.  My current position as a Technology Integration Collaborative Teacher(Update: Education Consultant for Tierney Brothers, Inc.) has allowed me to research and practice what I call the “Educational Future”.  The “Educational Future” is a place where employers, politicians, families, schools,  institutions and other entities see students. I reflect daily on three questions:  1)  What will students need to know?  2)  How will they learn it?  3)  How are teachers going to gain the skills to support students now, so students are successful in the future?  These questions will help drive my blog entries.

Some of my favorite quotes…

“Change is the essence of life. Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become.” (Anonymous)

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” (Maria Robinson)

“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.” (Alvin Toffler)

“Creativity is a type of learning process where the teacher and pupil are located in the same individual.” (Arthur Koestler)
